About Me

J. Nick Taylor is an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts at the Community College of Denver and serves as the Chair of Faculty Council.  He holds a Ph.D. in Theatre Arts from the University of Oregon and bachelor's and master's degrees from Virginia Tech.  He also serves as Incoming Co-Chair of Region VII Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.  As a trained generalist, his areas of specialty are acting (voice & movement), directing, and literature.  His main area of research is political ramifications of the intersection of labor and love in the work of Kentucky-born playwright Naomi Wallace.  In performance, he is more interested in the conflation of actor presence and resistance, the queering of gender, and reinterpreting classic texts.
